HR Business Partner – People Strategy Lead

About the role

As an HR Business Partner you will join Heathrow’s People team to support the Customer and Heathrow Express divisions. Working closely with senior leaders you will help translate the airport’s people strategy into practical actions that drive performance, talent development and organisational change.

Key responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with business leaders and act as the go‑to advisor on all people matters.
• Translate Heathrow’s people priorities into day‑to‑day actions and longer‑term initiatives.
• Provide sound judgement on people risk, escalating complex or high‑impact issues when required.
• Deliver core HR processes including performance cycles, talent reviews, reward assessments and absence management.
• Analyse people data to identify trends, risks and opportunities across the assigned business area.
• Partner with unions, Centres of Excellence and senior stakeholders to ensure a seamless, high‑quality employee experience.

Required profile

• CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience) with a strong HR generalist background in a large, complex organisation.
• Proven experience across employee relations, reward, talent and performance management.
• Solid knowledge of UK employment law.
• Resilient and confident when working through ambiguity, with the credibility to challenge constructively.
• Strong analytical capability and comfort using people data and insights.

Required skills

• CIPD qualification or equivalent.
• In‑depth understanding of UK employment legislation.
• Experience with performance management, talent development and reward processes.
• Ability to interpret and act on people analytics.
