Immunisation Staff Nurse – Primary Schools Flu

About the role

The Immunisation Staff Nurse will deliver the Scottish childhood flu immunisation programme in primary schools across Ayrshire. Working within the Children’s Immunisation Service, you will provide safe, accessible nursing care to children and their families, supporting the public health agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver flu vaccinations in primary schools across three localities in Ayrshire.
• Collaborate with the NHS Children and Families Health team to ensure a patient‑centred service.
• Maintain accurate immunisation records and adhere to public health guidelines.
• Provide health education and advice to children, parents, and school staff.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to service improvement.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (NHS Scotland).
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multi‑disciplinary team.
• Experience or interest in working with children, families, and community settings.
