Immunisation Staff Nurse – Secondary Schools Flu (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The NHS Ayrshire & Arran is seeking a qualified Immunisation Staff Nurse to deliver the seasonal flu immunisation programme across secondary schools in Ayrshire. This fixed‑term position runs from 14 September 2026 to 27 November 2026 and offers a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide flu vaccinations to pupils in all secondary schools across three Ayrshire localities.
• Work collaboratively within the Children and Families Health team to ensure high‑quality, patient‑centred service delivery.
• Maintain accurate immunisation records and adhere to NHS safety and infection‑control standards.
• Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and young people about the immunisation process.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) status.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multi‑disciplinary team.
• Experience or interest in working with children, families, and community settings.
• Valid UK driving licence (essential).

What we offer

• 27.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 09:00‑15:00.
• Annual leave week scheduled 12‑16 October.
• Reduced full‑time hours (36 hours) from April 2026 without loss of earnings.
