Indirect Tax Senior Manager – Financial Services VAT

About the role

Join a market‑leading Financial Services Indirect Tax team that advises some of the largest and most complex businesses. You will work across all aspects of indirect tax, collaborating with specialists in VAT, customs, excise, stamp and environmental taxes to deliver innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of client relationships and act as a trusted adviser.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities with new and existing clients.
• Develop practical strategies to address complex VAT and indirect tax challenges.
• Lead delivery of large, multi‑disciplinary projects.
• Advise UK‑based businesses on domestic and international VAT matters.
• Coach, mentor and supervise junior team members.
• Contribute to the development of the team’s technical and commercial offerings.

Required profile

• Proven track record advising clients on complex VAT matters.
• Experience in the financial services sector is advantageous.
• Proactive, commercially minded with strong client relationship skills.
• Ability to win and develop business with limited oversight.
• Clear communication of complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience leading client teams and developing junior colleagues.
• Strong project management, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
