Interim Finance Manager – Central Finance for Multi‑Academy Trust

About the role

We are seeking an Interim Finance Manager to lead the central finance function for a rapidly growing Multi‑Academy Trust in Manchester. This fixed‑term position (initial 6 months) offers the chance to become permanent as the Trust expands its acquisition strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts for a portfolio of schools.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis across the Trust.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and oversee payroll processing.
• Provide financial insight to operational stakeholders to support decision‑making.
• Maintain robust financial controls, ensure compliance and champion continuous process improvement.

Required profile

• Qualified, part‑qualified or qualified‑by‑experience finance professional.
• Strong management‑accounting background with experience in budgeting and forecasting.
• Proven ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience in the education sector is advantageous but not essential.
