Interim Senior Tax Manager – International Tax

About the role

This interim position offers an experienced tax professional the chance to lead a high‑performing international tax function during a period of strategic growth. You will shape cross‑border tax strategy, drive process improvements and ensure robust governance across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic tax advice on business decisions, client proposals and cross‑border structuring.
• Assess and mitigate tax risks, including permanent establishment, withholding tax and VAT considerations.
• Lead international projects such as M&A, internal reorganisations, country start‑ups and legal entity rationalisation.
• Manage due‑diligence, step‑plans, documentation of tax consequences and integration actions.
• Monitor developments in international tax law, including Pillar 2, and oversee local compliance delivered by in‑country teams or outsourced providers.
• Support tax audit management and uncertain tax position assessments for financial reporting.
• Drive process improvement, data quality and standardisation across the tax function.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisors across multiple locations.

Required profile

• Full professional qualification – ACCA, CIMA, ACA or CPA.
• Significant experience in international tax advisory and process improvement.
• Strong commercial judgement and ability to evaluate and mitigate tax risks.
• Experience working in multicultural, multi‑location environments.
• Proactive, collaborative mindset with resilience and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Proven project‑management experience on complex tax‑driven initiatives.
