Kitchen Porter – Pub Hospitality

About the role

Join the team at a busy Wetherspoon pub at Manchester Airport as a Kitchen Porter. No prior experience is required – we provide training and a supportive environment for anyone with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and close down the potwash area each shift.
• Wash dishes, cutlery and kitchen equipment, ensuring hygiene standards are consistently met.
• Maintain cleanliness of the potwash area, equipment and surrounding workstations.
• Manage waste, recycling and correctly receive and store deliveries.
• Rotate stock, keep fridges, freezers and storage areas organized.
• Perform defrosting, preparation and general cleaning tasks using a clean‑as‑you‑go approach.

Required profile

• Reliable, friendly and able to work well as part of a team.
• Calm under pressure and able to follow health and safety procedures.
• Willing to work flexible shift patterns, including mornings, evenings, weekends and late finishes.

Required skills

• Dishwashing and potwash operation.
• Basic food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to handle waste and recycling correctly.

• Competitive hourly rate of £15.30 (plus £1 extra per hour for midnight‑5:59 am shifts).
