Learning Support Assistant – Primary School (Lambeth)

About the role

This position is for a Learning Support Assistant in a welcoming primary school in Lambeth, starting September 2026. You will work closely with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to provide tailored support for pupils with special educational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one support for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Lead small‑group interventions in phonics, reading, writing and maths.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Adapt learning activities to suit individual needs and learning styles.
• Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO and outside specialists to monitor progress.
• Celebrate achievements and help pupils build confidence, resilience and independence.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or SEND Support Assistant.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a primary school setting.
• Calm, patient demeanor with the ability to build strong relationships with children.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
• Passion for inclusive education and making a lasting impact.
