Lecturer in Built Environment (Quantity & Building Surveying)

About the role
University College Birmingham is looking for an enthusiastic Lecturer in the Built Environment with specialist knowledge in Quantity and Building Surveying. The role is ideal for an academic or industry professional who wants to shape the next generation of construction professionals in a technology‑driven environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality, innovative and inclusive teaching for undergraduate and apprenticeship programmes.
- Contribute to curriculum design and development in quantity surveying, building surveying and related subjects.
- Integrate research‑informed practice and industry expertise into teaching sessions.
- Support students in achieving academic, technical and professional goals.
- Participate actively in departmental development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- Experience or research interest in civil engineering, building inspection, refurbishment, maintenance, measurement and estimating.
- Strong background in CAD, digital modelling and emerging AI applications in construction.
- Passion for teaching and ability to engage motivated apprentices and students.
