Linux SysAdmin – Remote with occasional office visits

About the role

We are seeking a Linux SysAdmin to support a fast‑growing SaaS platform serving the university sector. The role is primarily remote, with occasional visits to our Bristol or Nottingham office.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, automate, maintain and improve the backend infrastructure of a highly scaled SaaS platform.
• Monitor systems, plan proactively, and respond to incidents on‑call.
• Build, maintain and document internal tooling for development and implementation teams.
• Produce detailed technical documentation and infrastructure diagrams.

Required profile

• Strong Linux administration experience, preferably with Ubuntu or Debian.
• Hands‑on experience with Ansible for configuration management.
• Proficient scripting skills (Bash, Python, PHP, PowerShell or Ruby).
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and security best practices.
• Professional use of Git and GitHub.
• Experience monitoring cloud‑based SaaS environments and writing clear documentation.
