Litigation Lawyer – In‑house Legal Team (Hybrid)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Litigation Lawyer to join a dynamic local authority in‑house legal team. The role will be supervised by a Senior Lawyer and will involve handling a varied caseload of civil, criminal and judicial review matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage criminal and civil litigation matters under supervision.
• Conduct judicial review cases and prosecutions as required.
• Provide legal advice to council Members and Officers.
• Negotiate settlements, draft pleadings and other legal documents.
• Attend meetings, Licensing Committee hearings and other relevant proceedings.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with experience in at least three of the following areas: homelessness, prosecutions, licensing, judicial review, education, litigation, no recourse to public funds.
• Background in private practice is acceptable.
• Ability to work under direction of a Senior Lawyer and handle a diverse caseload.
