Locum Litigation Lawyer – £55 per hour

About the role

This is a rare locum opportunity for an experienced Litigation Lawyer to join a reputable local authority on an immediate start. The assignment runs for 8‑12 weeks, primarily remote, with strong potential for extension or a permanent role.

Key responsibilities

• Handle a broad range of civil litigation matters, both contentious and non‑contentious.
• Manage landlord and tenant disputes (commercial and residential) and housing law issues, including homelessness cases.
• Conduct judicial review proceedings.
• Recover debts, including Adult Social Care debt.
• Attend court hearings and key meetings as required.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2 years post‑qualification experience.
• Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload with minimal supervision.
• Experience handling rent disputes across commercial and residential leasehold matters.
• Strong background in contested debt and general landlord‑tenant work.
• Experience managing litigated cases on both claimant and defendant sides.
