Maintenance Assistant – North London (£40k‑£50k)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Maintenance Assistant to support the Property Manager of a heritage‑listed private estate in Totteridge, North London. This hands‑on position involves a wide range of practical tasks, from minor repairs to vehicle upkeep, ensuring the family’s home runs smoothly and discreetly.

Key responsibilities

• General property maintenance including carpentry, minor repairs and painting
• Outdoor furniture care – jet washing, oiling and seasonal upkeep
• Vehicle cleaning, routine maintenance and MOT coordination
• Driving duties for the principal and family as required
• Maintenance of bikes, golf cart and other sports equipment
• Shopping, errands and logistical support
• Dog walking and arranging veterinary or grooming appointments
• Event setup and on‑site support
• Assisting the groundsman when needed

Required profile

• Strong practical background with carpentry experience preferred
• Good awareness of household systems such as plumbing, electrics and A/V
• Full clean UK driving licence and confidence driving a family vehicle
• Well‑presented, discreet and comfortable interacting directly with the principal
• Self‑starter with a keen eye for detail and a ‘get it done’ attitude
• Previous experience in a private household or estate is advantageous
