Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical & Electrical (Rotating Shift)

About the role

We are looking for two hands‑on Maintenance Engineers to join a global industrial manufacturing operation in Blackburn. The role is mechanically biased but requires solid electrical knowledge, especially around safety, isolation and fault diagnosis across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and reactive fault finding on rotating equipment, large motors, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics and temperature control systems.
• Maintain raw material handling systems and bespoke industrial machinery.
• Diagnose faults methodically, identify root causes and drive solutions to completion.
• Support isolation procedures and ensure safety compliance during maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical maintenance background in heavy industry or manufacturing.
• Ability to fault‑find across both mechanical and electrical systems.
• Proactive ownership of tasks and confident engineering judgement.
• Positive attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to develop technically and engage in continuous improvement.
