Management Accountant – Hybrid, Manchester

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Management Accountant to join a respected organisation shaping investment across the North of England. This hybrid role offers exposure to senior stakeholders, business partnering, financial reporting and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and variance analysis.
• Produce insightful reporting packs for senior leadership and budget holders.
• Partner with operational managers to provide financial advice and commercial support.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Monitor financial performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts and year‑end processes.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Oversee purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, banking and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Support cash‑flow monitoring and treasury activities.
• Develop and improve financial systems, reporting processes and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practice.
• Contribute to wider finance projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proactive and analytical with strong stakeholder engagement.
• Qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Management Accountant.
• Strong month‑end management accounting experience.
• Excellent Excel and financial systems knowledge.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience producing budgets, forecasts and financial reports.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining financial information to non‑finance colleagues.
• Continuous‑improvement mindset.
