Maths Tutor – 1:1 Tuition for Children in Wiltshire

About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic Maths Tutors to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition for children and young people across Wiltshire. Working on behalf of local authorities, you will help learners ranging from primary age to GCSE level improve their mathematical understanding, confidence and achieve individual learning goals.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one maths lessons tailored to each learner’s age, ability and learning style.
- Adapt teaching materials for pupils with SEND, anxiety, school avoidance or other barriers.
- Monitor progress, set targets and report outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain a safe, supportive learning environment during sessions.
Required profile
- Minimum 6 months experience in an educational setting (tutoring, teaching, TA, mentoring, learning support, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of mathematics up to GCSE level.
- Ability to modify lessons for diverse ages and needs.
- Experience with SEND, EHCPs or additional needs is desirable.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Patient, engaging and adaptable approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Driver preferred or willingness to travel locally.
