Online Assistant – Fast‑Paced Retail Role

About the role

Join a busy Sainsbury's store as an Online Assistant, supporting customers who shop online. You will pick and prepare orders, handle substitutions, and ensure a smooth hand‑over to delivery drivers, contributing to a seamless shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Select high‑quality products for online orders and provide suitable substitutions when items are out of stock.
• Use a handheld device to follow a store route, track picking times, and complete each order efficiently.
• Assist with customer queries, process orders, and help load delivery vans.
• Maintain a clean, organised store environment and move shopping containers up to 15 kg.
• Work flexibly across the store, supporting teammates and adapting to shift patterns, including early mornings.

Required profile

• Above school‑leaver age in the UK and, for early/late shifts, at least 18 years old.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Comfortable with fast‑paced, physical work and early‑morning starts (shifts may begin at 4 am).
• Friendly, enthusiastic, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
