Paper Machine Operator – Shift Based

About the role

Essity is seeking a motivated Operator to join the Papermaking Department at its paper mill in Trafford Park. You will work as part of a dedicated team responsible for producing mother reels on a large‑scale paper machine, adhering to safety and quality standards while contributing to continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor heavy machinery in the assigned area of the paper machine.
• Execute all operational tasks according to documented procedures and maintain a clean, organised workspace.
• Perform quality checks and ensure product test criteria are met.
• Record daily activities in the management system and carry out scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with the team to meet performance KPIs while prioritising safety.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a heavy‑machine environment, preferably papermaking.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and capacity to work to tight timelines.
• Excellent communication and numeracy skills.
• Commitment to safety and willingness to work a 4‑on/10‑off shift pattern (two 12‑hour days, two 12‑hour nights).
