PE Coach / HLTA – Primary School (Manchester)

About the role
Aspire People are recruiting for a PE Coach / HLTA to join a primary school in Manchester (M9) from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PE Coach, Sports Coach or HLTA with a Level 3 qualification or above who is confident delivering PE across a primary school and wants to take ownership of the school's wider sporting provision.
Key responsibilities
- Planning, delivering and assessing PE lessons across the school
- Supporting active play and physical activity during breaktimes
- Running extracurricular sports clubs and after‑school clubs on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until 4:00 pm
- Supporting pupils at sporting fixtures and organising Sports Day
- Managing PE equipment and resources and developing links with other schools
- Promoting health, fitness and physical wellbeing, and providing occasional lesson cover
Required profile
- Level 3 sports or coaching qualification (or higher)
- Minimum two years’ experience supporting children through sport or physical activity
- Experience working with children who have experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, including those with behavioural, emotional or social needs
- Proactive, enthusiastic and able to work independently as well as part of a wider school team
