About the role
The People Consultant joins the People Services team of the UK’s aviation and aerospace regulator. Working from Aviation House in Gatwick, you will provide proactive HR advice and support to managers across the organisation, helping to maintain high safety and performance standards.
Key responsibilities
- Build trusted relationships with people managers and deliver expert, commercially‑sound HR guidance.
- Coach managers through complex employee‑relations cases, including performance, absence, disciplinary and grievance matters.
- Liaise with the Employee Relations Manager for specialist advice and lead formal procedures when required.
- Analyse people metrics, highlight trends and recommend strategic interventions.
- Support change and restructuring programmes alongside Strategic People Partners.
- Deliver training and briefings aligned with the CAA People Strategy.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement of HR policies and processes.
Required profile
- Proven experience in an HR generalist or employee‑relations role, with a track record of building trusted relationships at all levels.
- Proactive, taking ownership of cases from start to finish.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law applied to complex ER situations.
Required skills
- In‑depth understanding of UK employment legislation.
What we offer
- Competitive salary £45,000‑£50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
- 9‑month fixed‑term contract, full‑time.
