People Partner

About the role

We are supporting a well‑established, values‑led educational organisation in Liverpool to hire an experienced People Partner. You will act as a trusted business partner to senior leaders, delivering pragmatic people solutions and helping shape an inclusive, high‑performing culture across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on employee relations, employment legislation and people policies.
• Manage complex casework including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and investigations.
• Support organisational change programmes and workforce planning activities.
• Coach and develop managers to strengthen leadership capability.
• Contribute to wellbeing, engagement and inclusion initiatives.
• Assist with talent development, succession planning and recruitment.
• Use people metrics and insight to identify trends and inform decision‑making.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an HR partnering or advisor role.
• Strong employee‑relations expertise and up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment law.
• Excellent relationship‑building and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to influence, coach and challenge constructively at all levels.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• CIPD qualification or equivalent experience; trade‑union experience is a plus.
