Performing Arts Lecturer (Full‑time/Temporary)

About the role
We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Performing Arts Lecturers to join a range of well‑established Further Education providers in Greater Manchester. This role offers the chance to make a tangible impact on learners aspiring to careers in the performing arts and creative industries, helping them develop both practical skills and professional confidence.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality Performing Arts lessons across a range of levels.
- Teach programmes in theatre, drama, acting, musical theatre, dance or related subjects.
- Assess, monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate teaching records in line with college requirements.
- Create a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment.
- Support learners in developing practical performance, rehearsal and production skills.
- Contribute to learner achievement, retention and progression.
Required profile
- Relevant degree or qualification in Performing Arts, Theatre, Drama, Acting, Musical Theatre, Dance or a related field.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent).
- Experience teaching Performing Arts in Further Education, Higher Education, Secondary Education or adult learning environments.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities.
Required skills
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Excellent subject knowledge and passion for performing arts education.
- Industry experience in theatre, acting, dance, musical theatre, production or a related creative field (desirable).
