About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Primary School PE Coach to join a vibrant school in Manchester (M9) from September 2026. The role is term‑time only and full‑time, with flexibility for fixtures and extracurricular activities. You will lead physical education across all year groups and help promote a culture of health and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, assess and evaluate PE lessons following the school’s established scheme.
- Support active playtime and organise after‑school sports clubs on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
- Develop and run extracurricular sports activities and the annual Sports Day.
- Provide support for pupils at sporting fixtures and occasional lesson cover.
- Manage PE equipment, resources and maintain relationships with local schools for fixtures.
- Promote physical activity, health and fitness throughout the school community.
Required profile
- Passionate about sport and confident delivering PE across different year groups.
- Proactive, able to work independently and build strong relationships with children.
- Comfortable supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional and social needs, using a nurturing approach.
- Team‑player willing to contribute to wider school activities.
Required skills
- Level 3 sports/coaching qualification or higher.
- Minimum two years’ experience delivering sport/physical activity for children.
- Experience working with pupils who have experienced adverse childhood experiences.
- Knowledge of coaching a range of sports.
- GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English, Maths and Science.
- Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one.
