Primary SEN Teaching Assistant – South Birmingham

About the role
We are looking for a caring Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to support a small group of pupils with special educational needs in a welcoming South Birmingham primary school. You will help children access the curriculum, develop social skills and achieve their individual targets in a nurturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with a group of SEN pupils within the classroom.
- Support children with autism, ADHD, communication difficulties and other additional needs.
- Deliver targeted interventions and adapt learning activities as required.
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and independence.
- Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO and support staff to achieve the best outcomes.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a school, nursery or SEN setting.
- Patient, empathetic and proactive attitude.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
- Passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.

- None specified beyond general teaching support.
