About the role
Join a leading consultancy as a Principal Flood Risk Consultant and drive high‑impact flood risk projects across sectors such as aviation, defence and water. Based in Manchester, you will lead technical work, mentor junior staff and collaborate closely with clients and design teams to deliver robust solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead hydraulic modelling, hydrology and GIS work for flood risk assessments.
- Oversee the use of tools such as TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, ESTRY and InfoWorks ICM.
- Ensure quality assurance of all technical deliverables.
- Mentor and guide junior staff, managing resources and project procedures.
- Develop and test flood mitigation concepts.
- Support project managers with financial control and business development activities.
Required profile
- Extensive experience delivering flood risk analysis and projects.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and make independent decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organised, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
