Principal Product Architect

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Principal Product Architect to join its award‑winning Architecture team in London. The role focuses on designing and maintaining architectural frameworks for global financial‑crime detection products, translating product requirements into concrete engineering designs, and guiding technology choices across regions.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and discuss architectures that follow design principles with engineering, product, and data‑science stakeholders.
• Define and maintain global API specifications and map regional variations where needed.
• Lead architectural design assessments for product changes and evolution.
• Conduct technology assessments, software selections, and architectural evaluations aligned with business objectives.
• Circulate designs to cross‑functional leads to support estimation and development.
• Ensure resilience, reliability, and cost‑effectiveness of services.
• Own the customer experience of product suites and drive simplification of architecture strategies.
• Proactively address emerging technical concerns and recommend innovations.
• Participate in architecture review meetings and resolve enterprise‑wide challenges.
