Project Manager – Bee Network Rail Integration

About the role

As a Project Manager in the Strategic Development team, you will lead the integration of rail services into the Bee Network – a seamless transport system for Greater Manchester. You will work with Northern, TfGM, Network Rail and other partners to turn strategic ideas into tangible projects that improve customer experience and community connectivity.

Key responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of Bee Network Rail Integration projects from concept to delivery.
  • Lead day‑to‑day project activities across service integration, customer experience and station improvement programmes.
  • Collaborate with industry partners, suppliers and local stakeholders to define requirements and develop practical solutions.
  • Manage scope, schedule, risk, budget and resources, ensuring safe and efficient delivery.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Northern, TfGM and Network Rail, maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation such as delivery plans, risk logs and progress reports.
  • Oversee project governance, change control and lessons‑learned processes.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and the Common Safety Method (CSM) to support safe delivery.

Required profile

  • Proven ability to bring diverse stakeholders together around a common goal.
  • Strong organisational skills with experience managing competing priorities on complex projects.
  • Commercial awareness and confidence negotiating with internal and external parties.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required skills

  • Project management methodologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.
  • Understanding of the Common Safety Method (CSM) for rail projects.
