Public Affairs Adviser – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

We are seeking an outstanding Public Affairs Adviser to join a leading non‑profit organisation in London on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role sits at the intersection of financial services, public policy and social impact, requiring a deep understanding of the UK political and legislative landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the organisation’s policy and stakeholder engagement strategy.
• Build and maintain relationships with government bodies, regulators and key external stakeholders.
• Advise the CEO and Chair on public affairs matters and help shape the external voice of the organisation.
• Monitor legislative developments and assess implications for the organisation.
• Produce clear communications and represent the organisation at relevant events and forums.

Required profile

• Proven experience in public affairs and government relations, preferably within financial services or credit sectors.
• Strong knowledge of the UK political and legislative environment.
• Ability to influence, build enduring relationships and work independently.
• Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.
