About the role
We are seeking a qualified Business Studies Teacher to join one of our partner schools in the Birmingham/Walsall area. The role starts in September 2026 and is initially temporary, with the possibility of becoming permanent. You will teach Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 students, preparing them for GCSE and A‑Level examinations.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Business Studies lessons for Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
- Create a positive learning environment that promotes student achievement and progression.
- Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Prepare students for GCSE and A‑Level examinations.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, attainment and behaviour.
- Contribute to departmental planning, assessment and curriculum development.
- Uphold safeguarding and behaviour policies.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Business Studies at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Business education.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
- Current Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- Two satisfactory professional references.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of Business Studies curriculum.
- Effective classroom management techniques.
- Ability to assess and track student progress.
What we offer
- Daily rate of £160‑£240, inclusive of statutory holiday pay.
- Experience of teaching in a supportive school environment.
- Potential for the role to become permanent based on performance.
