Risk Surveyor – Property & Business Interruption

About the role

The Risk Surveyor will support the Regional Manager in delivering desktop and on‑site risk control surveys across the West Midlands. You will assess material damage, business interruption, employers, public and products liability exposures, ensuring compliance with agreed service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct desktop and field surveys to evaluate risk exposures for insurance policies.
• Collect photographic evidence and complete risk assessment templates.
• Prepare detailed risk reports and presentations for underwriters and brokers.
• Advise clients on‑site about risk mitigation opportunities and recommend improvement measures.
• Allocate quality grades and track pre‑ and post‑improvement actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience assessing a range of insurance risks, including material damage and business interruption.
• Strong knowledge of loss prevention, building design, fire protection systems and security measures.
• Relevant certifications such as CII, NEBOSH, MIOSH or equivalent risk management qualifications.
