Roadside Rescue Mechanic – Berkshire

About the role

As a Roadside Rescue Mechanic for The AA in Berkshire, you will respond to vehicle breakdowns, provide on‑site repairs, and ensure members get back on the road safely. You will work independently across varied locations and conditions, representing the UK’s largest motoring organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Depart from your home base each shift and travel to breakdown sites, being paid from the moment you start until you return.
• Diagnose and resolve a wide range of vehicle issues on the spot.
• Communicate clearly with members to deliver a positive customer experience.
• Maintain and operate the AA rescue van and equipment.
• Follow health and safety procedures while working in all weather conditions.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent experience.
• Full Category B driving licence with no more than six penalty points.
• Willingness to work flexible shift patterns, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
• Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
