SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary Special School (Birmingham)

About the role
We are seeking a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming primary special school in Birmingham. This role starts in September and offers the chance to support children with a range of additional needs in a well‑resourced, supportive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1‑2‑1 and small‑group support for primary‑aged pupils with special educational needs.
- Assist pupils with communication, social and emotional development.
- Support the delivery of engaging, personalised learning activities.
- Work closely with teachers, specialist staff and other teaching assistants.
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement.
- Provide personal care where required and help maintain a safe, inclusive classroom.
Required profile
- Previous experience supporting pupils with special educational needs.
- Strong commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and specialist staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
