SEND Teacher – Permanent Role Starting Sep 2026

About the role
We are seeking an experienced SEND Teacher to join a specialist special school in Birmingham from September 2026. You will lead a small Key Stage 2 or Key Stage 3 class of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition and Moderate Learning Difficulties, delivering highly differentiated lessons that promote academic progress and personal development.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for a small SEND class.
- Create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist staff.
- Support pupils’ communication, independence, and confidence.
- Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress against EHCP targets.
- Contribute to personalised learning plans and target setting.
Required profile
- Previous experience teaching or supporting children with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties.
- Patient, creative, and passionate about SEND education.
- Ability to work effectively with a supportive team.
Required skills
- Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) educational strategies.
- Experience designing differentiated lesson plans.
- Proficiency in assessing and recording pupil progress.
