SEND Teacher – Specialist School (Birmingham)

About the role
We are seeking a passionate SEND Teacher to join a specialist school in Birmingham. You will lead a class of pupils with a range of additional needs, delivering highly personalised learning that aligns with each child’s EHCP outcomes and development goals.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess engaging, personalised lessons for pupils with SEND.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of autism, severe learning difficulties, complex needs and communication challenges.
- Set individual learning targets linked to EHCP outcomes and monitor progress.
- Support development of literacy, numeracy, emotional regulation and independence.
- Lead and coordinate Teaching Assistants within the classroom.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, families and external professionals.
- Prepare and lead annual review and EHCP meetings.
- Promote positive behaviour, safeguarding and contribute to the wider school community.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND, autism, SLD or complex needs.
- Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building abilities.
- Commitment to inclusive education and pupil progress.
- Excellent communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
