Senior Accountant / Client Manager – Birmingham

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Senior Accountant / Client Manager to join our progressive team in Birmingham. The role provides autonomy, client exposure and opportunities to mentor junior staff while delivering commercial financial advice.

Key responsibilities

• Review bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts across a varied portfolio.
• Oversee statutory accounts, corporation tax, and personal tax compliance.
• Prepare advisory and technical documentation for senior review.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, managing deadlines and queries efficiently.
• Support Managers and Directors on client workflow, including Accounts, Tax, Payroll, and VAT.
• Develop a thorough understanding of clients' business operations to deliver commercially sound advice.
• Guide clients on best practices in system setup, controls, and software use.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to staff training and development.
• Identify areas to streamline internal processes for greater efficiency.

Required profile

• ACA / ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience with strong technical grounding.
• Minimum of two years' post‑qualified practice experience.
• Confident communicator with excellent analytical and problem‑solving ability.
• Skilled in managing teams and fostering professional growth.
