Senior Bookkeeper – Entertainment & Media

About the role

Butler Rose is supporting a leading specialist accountancy firm that serves high‑profile clients in the entertainment, media, sport and creative sectors. As a Senior Bookkeeper you will manage your own client portfolio and deliver high‑quality bookkeeping, VAT and business management services within a collaborative team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients across entertainment, media, sport and creative industries.
• Prepare bookkeeping records and process VAT returns for a varied client base.
• Liaise directly with clients, agents, managers and other professional advisers.
• Reconcile agency statements and assist with withholding tax (WHT) matters.
• Process payrolls where applicable.
• Provide proactive, confidential, high‑quality service to clients.
• Support and review junior team members as the role develops.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience within an accountancy practice in bookkeeping or business services.
• Strong bookkeeping and VAT experience.
• Experience using Xero (Sage experience also beneficial).
• Knowledge of UK VAT and PAYE; WHT experience advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with high‑profile clients.
• Organised, discreet and able to manage multiple client assignments simultaneously.
• Previous experience with entertainment, media or sports clients is a plus.
