About the role
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is seeking a Senior Case Officer to lead the review of Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) and other international data‑transfer mechanisms. You will work on a hybrid basis, supporting the ICO’s mission to ensure lawful cross‑border data flows.
Key responsibilities
- Assess BCR applications against UK data‑protection legislation and ICO guidance.
- Draft written comments and approval documentation for applicant organisations.
- Provide advice on the use of BCRs and other international transfer instruments.
- Correspond with organisations, their representatives and internal stakeholders.
- Deliver UK BCR reviews within agreed timescales and keep applicants updated on progress.
- Participate in meetings and collaborative sessions with colleagues and external partners.
Required profile
- In‑depth knowledge of UK data‑protection law and international transfer tools such as BCRs.
- Proven experience assessing data‑transfer applications for multinational organisations.
- Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent written communication skills for drafting comments and correspondence.
