Senior Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer – GCP Networking

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform networking. You will join a major cloud transformation programme for a leading UK financial services organisation, designing and operating secure, scalable networking solutions across hybrid environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and support enterprise‑scale GCP networking solutions.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Develop connectivity, security, routing and automation capabilities.
• Support production and non‑production cloud environments.
• Collaborate with Cloud Engineering, Platform, Security, Architecture and Delivery teams.
• Drive automation and DevOps best practices for networking services.
• Troubleshoot complex networking and infrastructure issues.
• Contribute to reliability, security, observability and operational excellence.
• Participate in on‑call rotation as required.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with GCP networking services.
• Proven expertise with Terraform and IaC.
• Solid DevOps background using modern tooling (Git, CI/CD pipelines).
• Experience in large‑scale, regulated enterprise environments.
• Ability to mentor engineers and provide technical leadership.

Required skills

• Google Cloud Platform networking (VPC, Cloud Interconnect, VPC Peering, Cloud Routers, Cloud NAT, DNS, Load Balancers, Private Service Connectivity, Firewall Policies).
• Terraform (IaC) and Terraform Cloud.
• Git and GitHub.
• CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Harness).
• Python and/or Bash scripting.
• Monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and Google Cloud Monitoring.
• IPAM solutions (e.g., Infoblox).
