Senior Consultant – Financial Services Compliance

About the role

Thistle Initiatives is seeking a Senior Consultant to join its Credit & Insurance team. You will provide expert financial crime and regulatory support to FCA‑regulated firms across credit, mortgage and insurance sectors, helping clients navigate complex compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse client documentation against relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Support FCA authorisation applications for insurance, consumer credit and mortgage firms.
• Consult directly with clients, answering technical questions and guiding them through application processes.
• Prepare and submit audit reports, with appropriate level of supervision.
• Conduct client visits, progressing from assisted to independent engagements.
• Stay up‑to‑date with FCA and industry developments and provide regular updates to clients.
• Undertake ad‑hoc projects and act as the first point of contact for client enquiries.
