Senior Credit Risk Manager – US Corporate & SME Clients

About the role

As a Senior Credit Risk Manager you will be responsible for assessing credit risk of US corporate and SME clients, managing a portfolio of significant credit exposures and working closely with the CRO and cross‑functional teams. You will own a book of significant credit exposures and continuously improve standards, documentation and the tech stack.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct due‑diligence on customers, analysing business models, public and financial profiles.
• Underwrite credit proposals by reviewing agency reports, financial statements and bank statements, identifying key risks and mitigants.
• Make credit decisions within delegated authority and maintain a performing loan book.
• Own high‑limit customers, monitor their risk profiles over time and present updates to the credit risk committee.
• Design and implement scalable, compliant straight‑through processes, leveraging AI and automation.
• Facilitate clear, fact‑based communication across Sales, Legal, Operations, Product, Data and Risk teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of operational experience in credit risk assessment for US corporate and SME customers, preferably in a bank or fintech.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and industry‑specific financial analysis; CFA or similar qualification is a plus.
• Analytical thinking, detail orientation and ability to quickly understand new problems and design solutions.
• Project management experience with end‑to‑end delivery of complex initiatives.
• Fluent English with excellent written communication; additional European languages are a plus.
