About the role
The Lancet Regional Health – Europe is an Open Access journal dedicated to improving health outcomes across Europe. As Senior Editor you will shape the journal’s scientific content, work closely with the Editor‑in‑Chief and other senior editors, and engage with a broad community of researchers, clinicians and policy makers.
Key responsibilities
- Assess original submissions and manuscript transfers, selecting high‑quality research that aligns with the journal’s scope.
- Identify and recruit expert peer reviewers, manage the review process, and ensure rigorous editorial standards.
- Commission editorials, special projects and other content to raise the journal’s profile.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the regional health community to attract leading research and thought leadership.
- Represent the journal at conferences and events, scouting topics and authors.
- Promote published work through social media, podcasts and other multimedia channels.
- Contribute ideas for new initiatives to support the journal’s growth.
Required profile
- Research experience in a health‑related field or experience within the broader development community.
- Strong critical analysis and editorial judgment.
- Commitment to equity in health and healthcare access.
- Ability to work collaboratively with international authors, reviewers and editorial teams.
