Senior Enterprise Technology Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Enterprise Technology Engineer to establish and lead the Data Engineering squad within our global data team, supporting the Trading Analytics and Insights organisation. You will design and implement enterprise‑scale data pipelines, mentor a team of 8‑10 engineers and drive the adoption of modern AI and cloud technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead a high‑performing, global data engineering squad, setting technical direction and fostering collaboration.
• Design, develop and operate scalable data pipelines using Python (Pandas, web‑scraping, ML libraries), SQL and Apache Airflow.
• Lead ETL processes for large, complex and time‑series datasets from APIs, databases and real‑time streams.
• Leverage Generative AI techniques (agents, RAG, prompt engineering, AI SDLC) to deliver new capabilities for the trading organisation.
• Build, deploy and optimise data pipelines on AWS services (S3, Redshift, EC2, Lambda) with a focus on cost efficiency.
• Coach and mentor a team of 8‑10 engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
• Drive Agile practices (Kanban/Scrum) using Azure DevOps, ensuring CI/CD automation and source‑controlled deployments.
• Create data visualisations with Tableau or Power BI to communicate insights to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
• 10+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with proven leadership and mentoring experience.
• Experience building market‑data solutions in a trading or financial‑services environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across global, cross‑functional teams.

• Python (Pandas, Selenium, Beautiful Soup, Requests, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• SQL and advanced optimisation, PostgreSQL (data modelling).
• Apache Airflow for orchestration at scale.
• AWS services: S3, Redshift, EC2, Lambda.
• Generative AI techniques: agents, RAG, prompt engineering, AI SDLC.
• Azure DevOps, Git, Linux environment.
• Data visualisation tools: Tableau, Power BI.
