Senior Lead, AI, Digital and Data Capacity Development

About the role

Save the Children International is looking for a Senior Lead to shape the organisation’s AI, digital and data capacity worldwide. The role will define strategy, govern AI adoption, and build capability through training and ethical standards, supporting programme delivery and decision‑making across all sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Set the global strategy and roadmap for AI, digital and data capability, prioritising initiatives that deliver organisational value.
• Lead the design, rollout and continuous improvement of AI, data analytics and digital training programmes for staff at all levels.
• Chair senior leadership forums, hold ELT/SLT and Country Directors accountable for AI and digital utilisation, and convene cross‑entity movement‑wide AI governance groups.
• Develop and enforce policies for responsible and ethical AI use, including the AI Ethics & Risk Working Group.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to embed AI solutions into programme delivery, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience setting and owning organisation‑wide AI and digital strategies in a global, multi‑function environment.
• Demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership and secure commitment from ELT, SLT and Country Directors.
• Strong change‑management expertise with a track record of driving cultural shifts toward AI adoption.
• Deep understanding of AI technical and non‑technical risks, including ethical considerations.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with generative AI tools such as chat assistants, enterprise copilots and agents.
• Data analysis and visualisation proficiency to support evidence‑based decision making.
