Senior Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

We are modernising our infrastructure on Google Cloud and need a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to help design, build and operate secure, resilient platforms. You will join a collaborative, product‑focused team and contribute to services that directly impact our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and continuously improve cloud infrastructure and platform services.
• Write, review and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) ensuring security and quality standards.
• Support existing products, respond to incidents and handle customer requests.
• Develop, test and release new features and enhancements for platforms.
• Track work using delivery tools such as Jira and contribute to sprint planning and roadmap activities.
• Use automation and AI‑enabled tooling to boost efficiency, reliability and cost‑effectiveness.
• Identify improvement opportunities for products, services and operational processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide cover for the Lead Engineer when needed.
• Participate in a shared on‑call rota.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing, building or supporting cloud‑based infrastructure solutions.
• Strong background with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform) and version‑control systems (e.g., GitHub).
• Understanding of secure engineering practices and industry standards.
• Experience working in agile delivery environments (Scrum or Kanban).
• Hands‑on knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Clear communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Proactive attitude toward identifying and resolving technical issues.
