Senior New Business Underwriter – Property & Casualty

About the role

IPS Group is seeking a Senior New Business Underwriter to join its Manchester team. You will work in the mid‑market commercial space, underwriting a diverse portfolio of Property & Casualty risks while driving profitable regional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite new P&C business across a range of commercial sectors.
• Develop and maintain strong trading relationships with broker partners.
• Balance technical underwriting excellence with commercial judgement to achieve profitability.
• Provide market insights and support to brokers through visits and remote interactions.
• Contribute to regional growth targets and portfolio performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in P&C underwriting, either with an insurer or an MGA.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to trade effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to build and sustain broker relationships.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid model, splitting time between office, broker visits and home.
