About the role

We are seeking a senior‑level nurse or midwife to join the Choices Team of the NHS Lothian Sexual and Reproductive Health Service. The post is a part‑time Band 6 position focused on the termination of pregnancy, providing safe, compassionate abortion care within a specialist sexual health setting.

Key responsibilities

Deliver abortion care services, ensuring clinical safety, patient‑centred counseling and adherence to NHS protocols.
Participate in clinical education and training activities, supporting the development of junior staff and contributing to the service’s learning programmes.

Required profile

Registered nurse or midwife with demonstrable experience in providing abortion care.
Current PVG Scheme membership/record for the relevant regulatory group.
Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom and willingness to undergo Disclosure Scotland checks.
