Site Manager

About the role

Trant is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead day‑to‑day operations on a dedicated site in South East England. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest SHEQ standards while acting as the main liaison between construction, engineering and commissioning teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise site teams, subcontractors and operatives, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of construction and installation works.
• Oversee site resources, plant and materials, maintain quality standards, conduct inspections and manage defects.
• Implement health, safety and environmental regulations, conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks and safety inspections in line with CDM Regulations.
• Provide regular progress reports, update programmes, monitor resource usage and support audits and compliance reviews.
• Serve as the primary interface for clients, regulators, suppliers and internal design, engineering and commissioning teams.

Required profile

• SMSTS (or equivalent) site management health and safety certification.
• Proven experience as a Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager delivering projects in the water and/or energy sectors.
• Experience managing multi‑disciplinary site teams and subcontractors, delivering on programme and budget.
• Demonstrable track record of health, safety and environmental compliance on construction or engineering sites.

Required skills

• SMSTS certification
• CDM Coordinator or management training
• HNC/HND/Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Construction Engineering
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and risk assessment procedures
• Familiarity with AMP, D&B and EPC project frameworks
