Skilled Groundworker – Civil Engineering Projects

About the role

MJS Construction Ltd is seeking an experienced groundworker to join its team on a full‑time, permanent basis. Based in Birmingham, you will travel to various construction sites across the UK, contributing to civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Operate plant and machinery such as excavators and dumpers.
• Prepare and lay concrete, including formwork setup.
• Install drainage systems, pits, and ductwork.
• Carry out grading, surface preparation, and concrete bay replacement.
• Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of groundworks experience covering excavation, drainage, and concrete work.
• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• Valid CSCS card (essential); CPCS/NPORS plant tickets are desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to stay away from home with overnight accommodation when required.
• Clean DBS check.
