Planner – Civil Engineering Projects

About the role

Join a leading civil engineering contractor in Scotland as a Planner, responsible for shaping the schedule and delivery of multi‑million‑pound infrastructure schemes. You will work within an established project team, supporting high‑profile projects across utilities, energy, highways, rail and industrial developments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, manage and maintain detailed project programmes from tender to completion using Primavera P6.
• Produce baseline, updated and revised programmes, monitor progress and identify risks, delays and mitigation strategies.
• Analyse critical paths, provide regular progress reports and support resource planning and forecasting.
• Collaborate with engineers, commercial staff and senior management to ensure realistic, achievable schedules.
• Attend project meetings, deliver programme updates to stakeholders and assist with claims, extensions of time and contractual programme requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Planner in civil engineering, infrastructure or construction.
• Strong knowledge of project planning methodologies and critical‑path analysis.
• Familiarity with NEC contracts is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Full UK driving licence.
