Software Engineer (Full Stack, Backend-Leaning)

About the role

Join a seed‑stage, Y Combinator‑backed regtech startup that builds AI agents to automate Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) and Know‑Your‑Customer (KYC) operations for banks and fintechs. The platform already processes real KYC/AML workflows across the US, EU, MENA and Japan. As a full‑stack engineer with a backend focus, you will work directly with the founding team in London to scale core infrastructure and ship product rapidly.

Key responsibilities

• Own the core AI‑agent infrastructure, API systems and integrations with KYC/AML platforms used by banks and fintechs.
• Ship features quickly while making architectural decisions that enable production‑scale growth.
• Collaborate closely with founders and cross‑functional teammates to deliver end‑to‑end product releases.
• Develop within a serverless stack using JavaScript/TypeScript on AWS, following strong CI/CD practices.
• Ensure security, auditability and regulatory compliance across all workflows at scale.

Required profile

• 1–5 years of experience building production systems.
• Strong proficiency in at least one of: AWS, JavaScript/TypeScript, or React.
• Experience working at a startup or in a small, fast‑moving team.
• Familiarity with serverless architectures and CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid computer‑science fundamentals demonstrated through top‑tier education, work at competitive tech companies, or proven startup contributions.
